Rallye Challenge Online Game

A Great Way To See

The Development of a Gimmick

Okay, if you have played all of our sample rallyes, here is a challenge that will take you beyond those events and hopefully will amaze you.

Each of the following rallye puzzles is designed to test you on basic rules of rallying.  Once you discover what your COURSE IS CHECK BELOW AND SEE IF YOU ARE CORRECT.

Rules

Assume you are following the course by an onto rule which states:  When a route instruction command is followed immediately by the word ONTO and the name or number of a road, you are to follow (and reenter if necessary) that road by the name or number you were placed onto that road until you can complete your next numbered route instruction. Assume Left at Tee as an obvious route.

Use the map to the left for 1-4

Use Map on the Right for 5-7.

PUZZLE 1

Puzzle 1—Begin at Point A ON MAP ABOVE TO LEFT

   1. Right onto Smith Lane.

   2. Right on Border.

   3. Left at the first opportunity.

PUZZLE 2

Use the same diagram and begin at A.

   1. at crossroad onto Smith Lane

   2. Right on Border.

   3. Left at the first opportunity

PUZZLE 3

Use the same diagram and begin at  B

   1. Right onto Parker Road then Left at the first opportunity

       then Right on Border.

   2. Left at sideroad.

PUZZLE 4

Use the same diagram and begin at B

1.Right onto sideroad, Parker, then Left at the first opportunity.

   2. Left on Border.

PUZZLE 1

You are ONTO Smith Lane and you should have followed/reentered it when you came across it the first time, as a left, before making the loop to Borders Road. Note that all rallyists, whether they did reenter Smith or not end up on Border Road travelling the same path.

PUZZLE 2

A mere word out of place and you do something completely different. Because the ONTO is not immediately following a command, it follows crossroad, not a command, you don’t have to follow Smith because the rule does not apply. In this case the correct course would be to not reenter Smith but merely loop to Border bypassing Smith on the left.

PUZZLE 3

Here you would follow Parker Road to the right and then perform your left at first opportunity at Snowbear, then gone left at Tee then Right on Border. You turn on Parker Road as it branches off of Border because you have not completed the route instruction below, and the ONTO lasts until you have completed the next numbered route instruction. Your left on sideroad would have been on Bandit Blvd.

PUZZLE 4

Like in puzzle 2, the ONTO does not apply, this time because the ONTO is followed by the word ‘sideroad’ which is not then name of the road. So you would not continue to follow Parker at any of its junctions.

PUZZLE 5

.

You must follow Brown at all its turns.

PUZZLE 6

The AT  Howard can be done at the first Howard road, by going Left on Cibulka, you needn’t have gone left ON Howard, just at it.

PUZZLE 7

The left at End is done at  Uchida Lane where Howard changes to Cibulka ahead of you.  Off course would have continued straight and gone to the Tee.
